Q: Is there any legal requirement before renting a portable toilet?
A: There are no legal requirements.
Q: Are there any basic requirements to install a portable toilet on land?
A: The only requirement is that the land should be flat. Preferable placement would be out of the wind so the unit does not get blown over.
Q: What are the requirements for a portable toilet on a building or construction site?
A: That the land is at and easily accessible for the servicing of the unit with a 5 ton service truck.
Q: On a building or construction site, can the portable toilets be relocated?
A: Yes they can, with the recommendation that we relocate units to ensure that no waste is spilled and or damage occurs to the units.
Q: What should I do with the residues deposited in the septic tank?
A: Nothing. We will carry out a regular emptying of the WC system, and the consequent waste treatment on a sewage farm.
Q: Where does the waste go after it has been pumped?
A: The waste water is taken to local waste water facilities and disposed of according to the regulations, procedures and sanitary conditions required by the facilities.
Q: Am I required to have a portable toilet on my job site?
A: Most city ordinances specially spell out the requirement of a portable toilet on a construction site and inspectors will require that a portable toilet is ordered and either placed on site or on its way before approving the inspection.
